The local newspaper and a trained spotter reported large pine trees down and a large section of a motel roof was peeled off.

Monsoon moisture streamed northward across southern Idaho and with the combination of daytime heating and a weak upper trough moving through the region, isolated severe thunderstorms developed over the Magic Valley in the late afternoon.
