Multiple trees were blown down by thunderstorm winds in and around Martinsville.

High pressure centered off shore to the east of the region created a southerly flow which directed warm, moist, unstable air into the area. Due to lack of a larger lifting mechanism, storms were diurnally driven and isolated.
