Event narrative
In Pendleton, the heavy rain cause several small debris flows along Airport Road and several intersections were flooding with water about 5 to 6 inches deep. Rainfall amounts include 1.54 inches of rain at the NWS office at the Pendleton Airport, with 0.88 inch falling in 30 minutes.
Wider weather episode
A disturbance, associated with subtropical moisture, caused thunderstorms producing large hail and severe wind gusts over portions of eastern Oregon and southeastern Washington. Also locally heavy rain and local flooding occurred with some storms.
