Scattered strong to severe thunderstorms developed in advance of a slow-moving cold front during the afternoon and evening of July 23rd. Most of the storms were concentrated near the I-72 corridor from Scott County northeastward to Vermilion County. Hail as large as quarters and wind gusts of around 60mph were reported with some of the cells.
