Event narrative

Emergency Management reported that Cedar Street was flooded near Tower Street, as well as portions of East Main Street, or Highway 137. Radar estimates indicated rainfall amounts of 3 to 4 inches, with locally higher amounts possible.

Wider weather episode

With a very moist air mass persisting across the region, a stalled frontal boundary across north Georgia produced scattered reports of damaging winds and very heavy rainfall. Isolated flash flooding occurred, particularly where rainfall amounts topped 4 inches.
