Event narrative

A mudslide occurred on County Road 5 near the intersection of Colorado Highway 13 as a result of heavy rains.

Wider weather episode

A persistent and unsettled northwesterly flow aloft brought yet another embedded upper level disturbance into the region that produced scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms across western Colorado. Significant rainfall occurred with some storms and resulted in some flash flooding and mudslides.
