KQHM--had sustained wind 30 mph or greater from 1040 AM to 545 PM. Highest sustained wind was 39 mph with a peak gust of 56 mph. This verifies the high wind warning for this first event of the season, when lower criteria for high wind are in effect.

Wider weather episode

High wind was forecast over the two coast zones and four northwest interior zones. Since this was the first event of the season, wind speeds somewhat less than typical high wind was forecast, but impacts were expected to be similar to what higher winds would cause later in the season.
