Event narrative
Strong and gusty north winds developed behind a cold front across portions of far eastern Riverside County on October 9. The winds occurred during the early morning hours. According to a mesonet weather station, RVYC1, located 8 miles east of Rice Valley, a gust of 67 mph was measured. The station was also located about 15 miles northeast of the town of Midland. No damage was reported due to the wind gusts.

Strong and gusty north winds developed down the lower Colorado River Valley and across portions of eastern Riverside County during the early morning hours on October 9. The winds developed behind a strong dry cold front pushing south through the area and they were strong enough to warrant the issuance of a Wind Advisory. During the early morning hours on October 9, a mesonet weather station reported a peak wind gust of 67 mph. No damage was reported due to the strong wind gust however.
