A trained spotter measured 6 inches of new snow 18 miles west of Kemmerer.

Wider weather episode

A storm system moved in from the Pacific and brought heavy snow across a large swath of southern and central Wyoming. The heaviest snow occurred in Natrona County around the Casper area. Snowfall amounts around Casper ranged from 8 to 14 inches, including 11.4 inches at the Casper airport. Heavy snow also fell in the Lander Foothills where 8 to 12 inches of snow fell. Heavy snow also fell in portions of Lincoln and Sweetwater Counties where over 6 inches of snow fell in many locations.
