A period of lake effect snow showers dropped 1 to 3 inches of snow across parts of Gogebic County. Gusty winds resulted in blowing snow and visibility restrictions during the day. The combination of snow and reduced visibility contributed to a snowmobile accident at the US 2 and Ramsay Crossing intersection that climbed the life of a gentleman from Wisconsin.
The wider storm
An upper disturbance moving across the region generated moderate to heavy lake enhanced snow downwind of Lake Superior in a north to northwest wind flow from the 29th into the 31st.
