An area of low pressure over the Tennessee Valley on the morning of the 7th raced rapidly northeastward to the Canadian Maritimes by the morning of the 8th. The storm brought heavy snow to much of western Maine. Snowfall amounts generally ranged from 6 to 10 inches except for portions of York County where 4 to 6 inches fell.
