The AWOS at Venice Municipal Airport (KVNC) recorded a 56 knot thunderstorm wind gust.

A strong squall line moved into the west coast of Florida ahead of a fast moving cold front. Some of the stronger storms produced severe wind gusts, and one waterspout came onshore as a brief lived tornado.
