Public reported (via Social Media) mostly dime-to-nickel sized hail with a few quarter sized stones northeast of Avalon.
Wider weather episode
Scattered thunderstorms developed within an unseasonably warm and moist environment ahead of a cold front across the Tennessee Valley during the afternoon and moved southeast into northeast Georgia during the evening. A few of the storms produced large hail and marginally severe wind gusts.
