Snowfall totals across the western part of the county include 5.0 inches two miles north of Meadow Bluff and at Rainelle, 6.5 inches two miles southwest of Williamsburg, 7.0 inches four miles west of Maxwelton, 8.0 inches at Quinwood, and 12.0 inches three miles north of Rupert.
Wider weather episode
A broad area of low pressure crossed the Great Lakes region while a disturbance on its south side crossed southeast West Virginia. This system, combined with cold air at the surface helped to produce snowfall amounts ranging from one-half foot to one foot across western Greenbrier County.
