A persistent moist northwest flow of unseasonably cold air led to a prolonged period of snow for a large part of central New York and far northeast Pennsylvania from the late evening of the 13th and morning hours of the 14th to the early morning hours of the 15th. Snowfall totals ranged from 7 to 16 inches in many areas.
