Strong winds, gusting in excess of 70 mph at times were noted over southern Colorado. Wind gusts between 58 and 60 mph with this system were recorded near Canon City, the Colorado Springs Airport and the La Junta Airport. Wind gusts between 61 and 70 mph were measured near Walsenburg, Westcliffe, Hoehne, the Pikes Peak Summit and La Veta. Finally, wind gusts of 71 mph were noted both near Stonewall and Wolf Creek Pass with this event.
