A severe thunderstorm producing winds estimated near 60 mph knocked down trees along Route 11 in Mahoning Township east of Danville.

Wider weather episode

A cold front dropped southward into a hot and humid airmass over central Pennsylvania, generating scattered showers and thunderstorms in a high CAPE, low shear environment. Wind damage was reported with a single storm cell that developed well ahead of the front in the vicinity of Danville.
