Event narrative

Surface water from the Clark Fork River flooded the county road that accesses the sewage lagoons in Plains. The US Army Corps of Engineers had to construct levees to protect the sewage lagoons and they had to rep-rap county roads along the river to prevent roads from being washed out.

Wider weather episode

Above normal snowpack combined with a warmer than normal month of May contributed to flooding across western Montana.
