Event narrative

The Bitterroot River near Missoula flooded again and this time reached 12 feet which caused some flooding of farmland and some roads along the river from Lolo to the confluence with the Clark Fork River. Groundwater adjacent to the Bitterroot River flooded Linda Vista Golf course and nearby homeowner's backyards.

Wider weather episode

Above normal snowpack combined with a warmer than normal month of May contributed to flooding across western Montana.
