Event narrative

The Barrow County Emergency Manager reported at least a dozen trees blown down along Pleasant Hill Church Road between Highway 211 and Whispering Pine Road. Two houses were struck by falling trees causing significant damage to each. One minor injury was reported by a resident inside one of the homes.

Wider weather episode

A persistent moist and unstable airmass over the region combined with afternoon heating resulted in scattered to widespread thunderstorms each afternoon and evening with a few reports of damaging wind gusts each day.
