The Jasper County 911 center reported trees blown down from north through northwest of Monticello. Locations include 7 Island Road near Highway 212 and around the intersection of Highway 83 and Alexander Road.

Wider weather episode

Despite weak upper-level ridging across the southeastern U.S., abundant moisture and strong afternoon heating resulted in widespread thunderstorms each afternoon and evening. A few severe thunderstorms were reported each day.
