A tree was downed onto an occupied vehicle on Sage Lake Road near Craun Road. The driver was killed, while a passenger suffered minor injuries.

Strong to severe thunderstorms developed along a cold front over northeast lower Michigan on the afternoon of the 27th. As opposed to the previous day, these storms produced mainly damaging winds, with one report of hail.
