A wind gust of 39 knots was measured at an automated WeatherFlow station on Upper Matecumbe Key.

Wider weather episode

Numerous thunderstorms and squalls along the outer periphery of Subtropical Storm Alberto produced gale-force wind gusts throughout the Florida Keys coastal waters. These squalls were not associated with the circulation of Alberto, however deep rich moisture streaming north from the western Caribbean produced multiple rounds of deep convection near the Florida Keys from May 26 through May 27.
