The Boxcar Fire was reported on June 21, 07:48 a.m. after a storm brought patchy rain and lightning to portions of Central and North-Central Oregon. This fire eventually merged with the South Junction Fire which started around 3:00 p.m. the same day. These fires burned southeast and south of Maupin in Wasco county Oregon.
