Event narrative

A 500 acre wildfire occurred over Massacre Rocks about 5 to 10 miles southeast of American Falls. on June 9th and 10th. The fire was driven by wind gusts of 40 mph and spread rapidly. Cooler temperatures and lighter winds slowed growth and it was contained quickly over open land. No structures were threatened.
