Event narrative
The Miles Wildfire was originally part of the South Umpqua Complex Wildfire. It was caused by lightning and the time of ignition was around 1200 PDT on 07/15/2018. It was separated from the South Umpqua Complex on 08/08/18 and combined with the remaining fires from the former Sugar Pine Complex. As of 0330 PST on 10/01/18, the fire covered 54334 acres and was 82 percent contained. 2 structures were lost, and 95.8 million dollars had been spent on firefighting efforts.
