The HWY 24 Command fire burned in grass and brush along and north of Washington State Highway 24 in northeast Yakima county. The fire burned approximately 1,800 acres, and prompted road and local area closures. Cause of the fire still unknown. Fire was suppressed and 60 percent contained on 8/1/18 with no further updates after that date.

The HWY 24 Command fire occurred at the east end of the Moxee Valley, approximately 17 miles east of Yakima.
