Event narrative

There was flash flooding in the Pioche and Panaca areas, including an eight mile stretch of Highway 322 east of Pioche. Highway 93 was starting to wash out near mile marker 113. At Cathedral Gorge State Park, a guardrail was taken out by flood water, and the campground was inundated with four feet of water.

Wider weather episode

After a brief break, another push of monsoon moisture fueled another outbreak of thunderstorms across the Mojave Desert and southern Great Basin. Many storms produced severe weather and flash flooding.
