A few strong thunderstorms became severe over northwest Minnesota during the mid to late afternoon of September 12th. As the Minnesota storms approached the Roseau to Baudette area, another area of storms initiated over the Devils Lake region. These North Dakota storms eventually tracked up into the northern Red River Valley. Both areas of storms produced hail.
