A weak cold front and mid level trough advanced east across the eastern Great Lakes during the evening hours. Severe thunderstorms developed across southern Ontario to the southwest of Toronto, and also across northern Ohio. Southwest flow produced a stout lake shadow across much of Western NY, which lasted into the early to mid evening hours. This prevented the majority of the southern Ontario convection from entering Western NY, however some weakening activity reaches the Niagara River and Lake Ontario.
