Severe thunderstorm wind gusts downed several trees on Old River Road near New Augusta.

Wider weather episode

A deep upper level trough, approaching from the west, combined with a very moist and unstable airmass, resulted in numerous showers and thunderstorms. One storm became severe across inland southeast Mississippi.
