The Barrow County Emergency Manager relayed several reports of quarter to ping pong ball size hail in the Winder area.

Wider weather episode

A series of short waves moving through an unseasonably strong northwesterly upper-level flow pattern brought several rounds of strong to severe thunderstorms across north and central Georgia. One of these episodes moved across the region during the afternoon and evening producing numerous reports of large hail and damaging thunderstorm winds.
