The Montgomery County Emergency Manager reported trees and power lines blown down from east of Mt. Vernon along Highway 280, south southeast to Fire Tower Road around Highway 221 and east of Uvalda near the intersection of Gibbs Bridge Road and Jones Road.

Despite a persistent ridge of high pressure over the region, ample moisture and strong daytime heating resulted in isolated to scattered strong to severe thunderstorms each afternoon, into the early evening.
