Event narrative

The Crawford County Emergency Manager reported a lightning strike at Crawford County High School. The strike caused considerable damage to an electrical control box and caused a small fire. There was no significant damage to the building structure due to the fire.

A series of weak short waves moving through a generally zonal upper-level pattern, combined with strong daytime heating each day to produce scattered strong to severe thunderstorms across north and central Georgia.
