An upper level system and strong cold front crossed the region. Temperatures were cold enough for snow across the Black Hills area. The heaviest snow fell over the southern Black Hills, where five to ten inches were reported. Lesser amounts fell across the rest of the Black Hills and far southwestern South Dakota.
