A Facebook video showed high water covered Dixon Creek Road at Dog Branch Road, with a few homes and outbuildings also flooded.

Numerous showers and thunderstorms affected Middle Tennessee during the morning hours on August 17. Thunderstorms repeatedly moving across Trousdale and Macon Counties dumped 3 to 5 inches of rain, causing significant flash flooding.
