Event narrative

Cape decision had gusts to 70 mph around midnight. Analysis showed strong pressure gradients along Prince of Wales Island, but no other reports of storm force winds. No damage was reported.

Wider weather episode

A 986 MB Low complex off Vancouver Island rapidly developed to a 968 MB storm force low center just south of Middleton Island by 0300 on 10/23. This system tracked farther west than previously forecasted resulting in winds barely reaching 70 mph along the outer coast. No damage was reported from this storm.
