Event narrative
A light coating of ice caused an accident near Wildhorse Creek Bridge. Three injuries were reported, as well as two fatalities. Monetary damages were estimated.
Wider weather episode
Light precipitation developed over parts of northern Texas before sunrise on the 3rd and moved through parts of southern Oklahoma. The precipitation moved over surface temperatures that were in the upper 20s and lower 30s, which caused it to freeze on contact. Precipitation coverage was not widespread, but enough ice accumulated on roadways that caused numerous traffic accidents. Unfortunately three fatalities were reported, as well as numerous injuries. Monetary damages were estimated.
