Event narrative
After 1 to 3 inches of snow fell across the region area roads became very icy, causing numerous vehicle accidents. One such accident that resulted in a fatality occurred on MO HWY 52, near County Road NE 251 in Henry County around 8:30 am, when a vehicle vehicle lost control and crossed the center of the road, striking another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle died later at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. In the first vehicle, the one that caused the accident, the driver and a 5 year old occupant were both injured.

While the snow was generally light - moderate at times - 1 to 3 inches of snow fell across the area which caused area roads to become icy, and numerous vehicle accidents ensued.
