A strong upper trough moving across the region produced snow, heavy at times across portions of southern Colorado. Some of the higher reported snow amounts with this event included six inches near Alamosa, Nathrop, Calhan, Divide, Peyton, Monument, Fort Garland and Texas Creek. Seven inches of snow was noted near Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Trinidad, Cripple Creek and Florissant. Eight inches of snow graced the communities Silver Cliff, Cotopaxi, Beulah and Maysville. Nine inches of snow was observed near Monte Vista, Woodland Park, Walsenburg and 22 miles to the west of Canon City. Ten inched of snow was recorded at Rye, while 11 to 12 inches of snow was reported near Westcliffe, Red Wing and La Veta Pass. Finally, 16 inches of snow was measured near the Spanish Peaks with this storm system.
