Event narrative
The Indian Butte wildfire began September 12th at around 6 pm MDT and burned 13,072 acres in Clark County. It began on Indian Creek Road 9 miles northwest of Dubois and was human caused. Dry Creek road and a portion of Pleasant valley Road were closed. Campers were evacuated on the 13th in the Dry Creek and Pleasant Valley area. One home was evacuated on the 12th but did not get damaged. The fire burned in grass, brush and timber. The fire was considered 100 percent contained on September 20th.
