Event narrative
A1A flooded along the Matanzas River in historic St. Augustine. The nearest tide gage along the Tolomoto River measured water level 3.67 ft MHHW as of 8:54 am, reaching moderate flooding thresholds. Thus far, this level tied the 9th highest historic crest for the site, previously set on 11/14/2012.
Wider weather episode
A tight pressure gradient between low pressure east of the region and high pressure north of the area created strong onshore flow. The persistent onshore flow combined with high astronomical tides created moderate tidal flooding around high tide.
