A winter storm tracked across the Central Plains, bringing accumulating snowfall to much of western and south central South Dakota. Most of southwestern and south central South Dakota, including the Black Hills, received five to nine inches of snow, with some areas over south central South Dakota receiving as much as 15 inches of snow. Winds were relatively light with this storm, but breezy conditions over south central South Dakota did produce some minor blowing and drifting snow. Accumulations were less across northwestern South Dakota, with parts of far northwestern South Dakota seeing very little snowfall.
