In Amesbury at 1256 PM EDT, a tree was down on Middle Road near the Merrimac line and at 538 PM a tree was down on Fern Avenue. In North Andover, at 317 PM, a tree was down, blocking the entrance to the high school and at 524 PM, a large tree was down on Bradford street, which was impassable. In Boxford at 551 PM, a large tree was down on wires on Anderson Drive. In Topsfield at 429 PM, a tree was down on wires on Rowley Road; at 637 PM trees and wires were down on Andrews Road; at 652 PM a tree was down on Rowley Bridge Road; and at 738 PM a tree was down on Wenham Road. In Haverhill at 640 PM, a tree and wires were down on Westminster Avenue. In Groveland at 754 PM, a tree was down on a house on Doris Street.
Wider weather episode
Low pressure from the Gulf of Mexico moved up the East Coast on October 27th and 28th, bringing strong winds to Central and Eastern Massachusetts and minor coastal flooding. A general one to two inches of rain was measured across the state.
