Beaches were closed at Padre Island National Seashore due to coastal flooding with water reaching the dunes.

Wider weather episode

Persistent onshore flow and high astronomical tides caused periodic flooding of beaches along the middle Texas coast from the 8th until the 11th. Swells from Hurricane Micheal reached the middle Texas coast on the 12th. The swells pushed water levels to 3 feet above mean sea level during the afternoon and evening of the 12th.
