Broadcast media reported high wind that resulted in a large tree falling over onto a vehicle and killing one person.

A strong Santa Ana Wind event impacted Southern California on October 15th. Multiple mesonet sites reported winds in excess of 58 mph, with the highest wind gust of 82 mph at Fremont Canyon. Orange County reported over 200 downed trees. There was one fatality from a fallen tree crushing a vehicle.
