A wind gust of 39 knots or 45 mph was measured at the U.S. Navy Tower R2.
Wider weather episode
A warm front lifted northward into southeast Georgia, allowing temperatures to climb close to 80 degrees with dewpoints in the upper 60s along the Altamaha River. The frontal boundary served as a focusing mechanism for thunderstorms to develop that eventually pushed in the Atlantic Coastal Waters.
