Visibility below a quarter mile was reported in Merced and Atwater. Several school districts opened late or delayed buses due to dense fog.

Wider weather episode

The ridge strengthened even further on January 25 which allowed for dense fog to impact more of the San Joaquin Valley as the Merced area was impacted by fog that morning as well as Visalia and Hanford. Several school districts opened late or delayed school buses again. Once again the fog dissipated by late morning.
