Several school districts opened late or delayed or cancelled morning bus service due to dense fog.

Wider weather episode

While the fog coverage was not as widespread on January 28 as it was the previous morning. There were still problems in the center portion of the valley as California Highway Patrol paced traffic for a while on State Route 198 and several school districts either opened late or delayed or cancelled bus service. The fog dissipated by late morning.
