Cold and dry air pushed into the San Joaquin Valley behind a strong low pressure center which moved through the area on February 4 and 5. Skies cleared out and winds diminished during the morning of February 6 allowing for temperatures to plunge below the freezing mark for a few hours in the San Joaquin Valley.
